Calm down Facebook chat bots are not taking over!

Facebook created a couple AI chat bots a few months ago. These chat bots we’re going to be used for selling products. Basically these bots were created to learn and develop through a conversation like a normal person would be able to.

Now unfortunately the plug has been pulled on this project earlier this week. The reason for this is because the AI chat bots had created their own language.

While developers were checking on the chat bots. The discovered the bots were talking to each other in their own language. The developers were unable to dicipher.

Here is an example of their conversation:

Bob: i can i i everything else . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Alice: balls have zero to me to me to me to me to me to me to me to me to

Bob: you i everything else . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Alice: balls have a ball to me to me to me to me to me to me to me

Of course people are freaking out over this and saying robots are going to take over. That these bots being able to create a language so quickly is a sign that AI will soon be smarter then humans and take over.

This to me just looks like the bots were malfunctioning. It is literally the equivalent of a record skipping. No one back then was freaking out and throwing away their record player.

It looks like that the developers got the bots working. Left to let the develop and when they checked back they were glitching.

But like any good employee when the boss asks what’s going on they just replied with I think we made them too smart and they were talking in their own language.

So everyone calm down this is not the end not even close. We will not anytime in the near future become slaves to a robot overlord. Sure we probably eventually will but at least not anytime soon. So let’s enjoy are freedom while we can and not worry too much about small advancements in AI.
